Will’s Thunderbolt

Thursday, October 20, 2005  |  posted by Hugh Hewitt

Rod Dreher warns all anti-anti-Miers GOPers that they will be struck dead by George Will on Sunday.

Now, Will is the most influential conservative columnist of the last 25 years, and Dreher is a smart, superb writer.

But I doubt very much whether any opinion piece from any pen is going to destroy the anti-anti-Miers movement. Especially as Wilma will be over Florida about then, and folks may have other priorities than Will’s latest column.

Meanwhile Jayson at Polipundit reminds us why Party matters, no matter what George Will says.

K-Lo was rushed, but I wonder if she considered the implication of “we’ve got some guys with principles out there,” applied, say, to Dean Starr, who has pretty much given every thing a civilian can to the conservative cause and also supports Miers?

I still don’t think things are remotely close to a conservative schism. But don’t be surprised if a few Tony nominations head towards the anti-Miers caucus.
