Every senator who votes tonight to withdraw troops from Iraq is acting with reckless disregard for the fact that al Qaeda is among the enemies in Iraq, and al Qaeda is not defeated there or across the globe. In the debate today and tonight, I hope the senators urging retreat from Iraq explain in detail how such a retreat will not assist al Qaeda in its ambitions to deal a devastating blow to the United States.
