“Waiting for Superman” Continues To Soar
The movie Waiting for Superman continues to do very, very well at the box office, with the highest per screen average of any movie in the country.
Meg Whitman brough up the film in yesterday’s townhall with Rudy Giuliani, the first time I have seen a GOP candidate for governor ever recommend a movie about schools to an audience that could be asked to spend their time working in the phone bank.
Whitman is running hard on education reform and the need for charter schools, and any pro-reform candidate in any race across the country has a key ally in this movie. Hopefully the film’s rollout to more and more theaters will continue to help bring voters’ attention not just to the extraordinary mismanagement of the economy by Team Obama, but of the destruction of urban schools by the teachers’ unions and the campaign by those unions to keep their friends in power from east to west.
