Two Books for Dad: The Storm of War and Rawhide Down
Father’s Day is fast approaching so today I have on two authors for repeat visits whose new books have been smash hits.
British historian Andrew Roberts’ new one-volume history of the Second World War , The Storm of War, is marching up best-seller lists because it is a terrific read and a comprehensive account of the epic struggle.
And Del Quentin Wilber does for one very significant day –the day Ronald Reagan was shot and the desperate struggle to save his life– what Andrew Roberts does for an entire war, which is craft a narrative of events that simply can’t be put down. The book is Rawhide Down: The Near Assassination of Ronald Reagan.
