The Stonewall Obama Is Building and the Oil Wall He Isn’t

Tuesday, May 25, 2010  |  posted by Hugh Hewitt

It has been two weeks since Governor Jindal and the State of Louisiana requesting permission for dredging to build new barrier islands to stop the oil headed towards the state’s wetlands and beaches. Still no answer from Incompetence Central –Team Obama. The Administration is making the Coast Guard answer questions about the delay in decision, but it isn’t the Coast Guard’s call –it is the president’s, and he’s not making it. But you can be assured that today someone at the top will tell us it is BP’s fault and BP will pay.

BP cannot approve the dredging. Only Team Obama can do that and it refuses to do so.

While skipping action on the oil wall, Robert Gibbs demonstrates the Administration is very good at building stone walls:

When Mr. Gibbs was pressed on the matter Thursday, he resolutely referred to his original statement exonerating the White House and refused to elaborate.

“But you never really explained what the conversation was,” said Jake Tapper of ABC News.

“And I don’t have anything to add today,” Mr. Gibbs said.

“But,” Mr. Tapper continued, “if the White House offers a congressman a position in the administration in order to convince that congressman not to run for office …”

“I don’t have anything to add to that,” Mr. Gibbs said.

Mr. Tapper persisted: “But do you really think the American people don’t have a right to know about what exactly the conversation was?”

“I don’t have anything to add to what I said in March,” Mr. Gibbs said.

The New York Times said of yesterday’s new questions about the alleged bribe offered Sestak: “The White House had nothing more to say Monday.”

So, will MSM accept a first-rate Nixonian response?

Callers from Denver yesterday relayed to me that lefty Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff, who like Sestak is challenging an Obama favorite, Michael Bennet, has also said he got a job offer to drop out, which means there’s probably an office of illegal-job-offer-bribes-to-leave-contested-races.
