“THe Re-Hollowing of the Military”
The November 2 elections will primarily be about the economy and Obamacare, with some voters running to the polls to express their contempt for the ruling elites’ jam-downs on marriage, immigration and now the Ground Zero Mosque.
There should be, but is not yet, a widespread rejection of the Obama Administration’s defense policies. Arthur Herman’s brilliant piece in the new Commentary on the subject is the first in depth critique of DoD under Obama-Gates and a defense budget supervised by Carl Levin and Nancy Pelosi.
Another urgent reason to return the Congress to Republican hands is so that defense-minded representatives and senators can at least slow the hollowing out of America’s military in the service of the president’s domestic spending volcano.
