The President’s Speech: Thoroughly Political and Left Wing and Utterly Unserious
The president declares that he will run for re-election as a hard left, soak-the-rich, refuse-reform and demonize-your-opponents demagogue. There are so many levels on which the speech failed as other than as an enormous and prolonged embrace of the MoveOn.org crowd that it will take most of today’s show to review, but I intend to play every minute of the address as the president remains wholly unaware of how out of touch he is with a country that is overtaxed and completely unwilling to let the federal government runs its health care as well as it has run its own books. Voters need to hear how out of touch he is.
The president wants the United States to be Europe, with European tax and spending policies and European levels of government nanny-state control. The 2012 election will be a clear referendum on this choice, and until then the House GOP supported by the Senate GOP must stand in the gap and say no to all tax hikes and refuse more economy-imperiling spending and borrowing.
