My new Townhall.com column addresses the issue that is driving a lot of the conversation among conservatives today: Do Beltway Republicans “get it”? . I pressed Jon Kyl and Mike Pence on this issue on yesterday’s show and the transcripta are worth reading aloud to every GOP candidate. They need to study the Kyl/Pence response and internalize it. These two great conservatives are preparing for a sustained confrontation with the president over enormously important issues, and that is exactly what is needed. People are not working around the clock and digging deep into their pockets so that Beltway Conservatives can get their chairmanships back. As I note in the column, any Republican who puts his or her name on an earmark is asking to be primaried, and any GOPer who advocates “meeting the president halfway” on the individual mandate or any other issue of Constitutional significance will indeed draw that primary challenge, and it will be very well funded.
