If you are thinking about one last contribution in this cycle, I suggest John Kasich’s campaign for governor in Ohio. That race has closed a bit and President Obama is going back to the Buckeye State to try and rally his base to keep an ally in the statehouse in anticipation of the 2012 contest. A contribution to Kasich also helps power the GOTV that will benefit conservative challengers to Democratic incumbents across the state, where as many as four or even five seats may switch from blue to red.
Kasich is conducting a live townhall webcast on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM EST, in which he will counter the president’s rhetoric from elsewhere in Ohio. Kasich will be talking about job growth and a plan for keeping businesses in the the state. President Obama will no doubt be trashing the Chamber of Commerce or some other new enemy of the recovery that he has identified.
