My new Townhall.com column urges the Speaker and the GOP caucus to walk away from “Plan B” and from “the deal,” and over the cliff. Right now the Speaker and the GOP caucus are acting like every victim in every scary movie ever made –opening the door into the cellar, walking into the woods to get some water, taking a ride in a car with the stranger. We know how this is going to end, and are screaming “Don’t do it!”
Bottom line: Every Republican who votes to raise taxes is George H.W. Bush without the Oval Office, the personal heroism and an unparalled record of service to the country. The MSM will kill them for breaking their pledge even though the MSM is urging the GOP members to do just that. It isn’t fair, it is the MSM.
The GOP’s base is already in revolt, and the anger will boil over because the party’s unfiying theme will have been traded away –for what? $100 billion in defense cuts and pretend entitlement reform? It is a disaster brought on by Beltway-Stockholm syndrome. Go home. Talk to people. Don’t. Do. This. Stupid. Stupid. Thing.
Call your GOP Rep at 202-225-3121. Tell them no. Tell them to keep their word.
