Spotting The Left’s Explanation For Success In Iraq
As the Congressional Democrats attempt to defund victory in order to keep their ’08 hopes alive, lefty reporters are struggling to find a narrative that explains the emerging stability in Iraq but which also denies credit to the surge (and thus President Bush, Secretary Gates, General Petraeus and the American military.) Bruised Orange has detected an early attempt at rewriting recent history, as well as its contradiction.
Bruised Orange has a very interesting background:
I am a Texican, born and raised, and currently living in Houston. Lived in NYC from 1987 to 2002, loved it but am glad to be back in Texas. Spent about 15 yrs in both enlisted and commissioned capacity in the Reserves and Guard (1980-1994), with the occasional ADSW tour or cool school. About 3/4 of the time was with Airborne units, about a quarter with a leg corps-level medical clearing company.
My oldest will turned five in Oct 2007, the grrrrl turned three in April 2007, and the newby turned two in October 2007. Met my beautiful young trophy wife in NYC, though she’s from Houston. I was at Ground Zero on 9/11; worked in WFC 3, which was attached to WTC 1 (the North Tower) by a footbridge across West Street. Worked in finance pretty much all my life, currently VP Finance (basically XO) for an on-shore domestic drilling contractor in Houston, primarily drilling for natural gas in the Edwards, and Barnett Shale and now the Cotton Valley in Texas.
