Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne has a new book: Souled Out: Reclaiming Faith & Politics After the Religious Right.
It is provocative and extremely well written, and the subject of this year’s extended conversation.
Last year I spent eight hours of radio time over two months with Thomas P.M. Barnett, a national security thinker with whom I did not often agree but whose book, The Pentagon’s New Map, was important and informative. It was the first time I had ever devoted such an extensive amount of time to one voice and one book.
The experiment was much applauded by my center-right audience, so I am repeating it in 2008 with E.J. Today’s is the introductory broadcast. I suggest you get the book and read along with us as we move through it.
