Round One: No Knock-Downs and Lots of Good Technique
The GOP candidates did a fine job of working with a lousy, disjointed format to communicate core values and their personalities. But some day, some day conservatives will get to ask conservative questions and the moderators won’t be afraid of a five minute answer on cap-and-tax or a four minute explanation of the benefits of marginal domestic oil production. Some day there will be a question over Libya and Syria and Egypt and whether the president has a clue. Someday there will be a question about what, exactly, did the stimulus accomplish.
No big pratfalls, some great answers, and the growing recognition that the election s all about President Obama’s failure and who is best positioned to fix a mess he inherited and made much much worse.
