Sarah Palin has been getting jabbed by the usual suspects for her recent endorsement of the works of C.S. Lewis. Michael Flaherty of Walden Media takes up the debate in today’s Wall Street Journal, as does Powerline’s Scott Johnson.
In the spirit of Christmas, I won’t speculate on the reading habits of the critics of Sarah Palin, but I will note that she isn’t alone in reading Lewis these days. In my interview with former President Bush last week he noted he was currently reading Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters, a reread of which would do us all great good.
The stage adaptation of the Screwtape Letters starring Max McLean leaves Broadway and begins a 2011 tour in January, beginning in Glendale, California and proceeding to San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Colorado Springs and Charlotte. The FMH and I saw it in New York last month and it is wonderful, and tickets to one of the shows would make a great Christmas present and quite an eye-opener for any of the critics of Sarah Palin’s reading.
