“Philanthropy’s Jeremiah Wright Problem”

Monday, May 12, 2008  |  posted by Hugh Hewitt

William Schambra directs the Hudson Institute’s Bradley Center for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal. His recent article for the Chronicle of Philanthropy looks at the radical inclinations of some of America’s major foundations when it comes to studying race in America.

Electing Senator Obama would empower many more radicals than Pastor Wright and Bill Ayers/Bernadine Dohrn. The “eggheads” that Paul Begala was warning about last week are legion, their view of an America mired in “structural racism” is widespread and profoundly hostile to American government as presently configured, and their agenda would be ambitious if Obama made it to the White House.

I expect they will greatly mute their denunciations of the country in the six months ahead for fear of being thrown from the bus as was Wright, but Schambra and Kurtz (see below) have barely scratched the surface of the left’s pervasive anti-American critique and the record is full of the left’s constant denunciations of the country. Don’t expect MSM to be broadcasting much about the friends of Obama and their worldview, but the story will get out nonetheless. It has to.
