Perry v. Romney v. Reagan

Friday, August 26, 2011  |  posted by Hugh Hewitt

Peggy Noonan weighs in on the Texas governor, but I think she very much underestimates Perry’s “touch” beyond his conservative base. The Texas governor is every bit the natural charmer that President Reagan was, and I have seen him work small rooms and large with a sureness and sparkle that will work very well when it isn’t mediated by a hostile Manhattan-Beltway media elite.

I have seen Mitt Romney display the same skills, sharpened by a previous presidential run and combined with a business and private sector management resume sent from central casting for the times in which we find ourselves.

They are formidable candidates and one will win and the other will be a strong supporter of the nominee because both understand that the country has to make a U-turn.
