Every now and then a story comes along that just makes you stop dead in your tracks. Or at least it should. I came across this story this morning and I did not know whether to shout, vomit, cry, or pick up a weapon and head to Pakistan. From Pakistan’s “The News:”
In February this year, an anonymous caller rang at Edhi Center in Karachi. He informed about a dead body dumped in garbage. As the staffers reached at the venue, they were aghast at the barbarity.
They found a dead body of a new born. It was a four-day girl whose throat was slit with a sharp knife. While girls were buried in pre-Islamic period as unwanted creature, cruel souls in Karachi are a step ahead: they kill and throw them at garbage. This nameless girl is not the only victim of barbarity. From January 2017 to April 2018, Edhi foundation and Chhipa Welfare organisation have found 345 such new born babies dumped in garbage in Karachi only and 99 percent of them were girls.
If that does not pull you up short and sicken you in some fashion, I suggest you have a long sit down with yourself and examine your moral compass very carefully. That is simply genocide. It may not be as well organized as the Holocaust, the pogroms of Stalin, or the purges of Mao, but it is the systematic killing of newborn women – likely by their *SHUDDER* parents. That’s horror movie level stuff, except it is far more horrible – it’s real.
I am going to bottom line this real quickly. This story was one, single, obscure headline that I found among the hundreds I looked at this morning and most of what I saw this morning was about POTUS, a porn star, and whose money went where. That’s just wrong in every single sense I can imagine. I will not defend the president’s sexual behavior past or present because frankly when I read stories about the systematic killing of female babies I just don’t care.
Anybody with a brain should know what is going on here. The Left and its media aides are either cooking up scandal, or making scandalous mountains out of ugly molehills, in an effort to distract and derail the conservative agenda. That’s American politics. Don’t care for it much, it used to far more gentile, but it is what it is. But some things ought be beyond it. If the systematic murder of female newborns is not enough to push our petty political struggles to the side then I have far more to mourn over this morning than the lives so heinously lost in Pakistan.
I fear we are sacrificing our soul to our politics.
