The John Kerry-led charade in Geneva resumes, even as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei “assured an audience of thousands of members of the hard-line Basij paramilitary organization that the negotiators would not compromise on Iran’s main nuclear policies.”
“I do not interfere in the details of the talks,” the New York Times reported Mr. Khamenei as first saying, and then adding “that we will not step back one iota from our rights.”
Read into the interview with Charles Krauthammer below and you will come to our discussion of Israel and why it will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. The Geneva farce brings a big war closer, not farther away, just as Obamacare kills the health care system, not strengthens it.
Oh and Harry Reid is trying to get people to talk about anything except Obamacare by raising the “nuclear option” in the Senate. Ho-hum. Once it is dead it is dead for post 2016 as well. When the GOP wins the Senate in the fall of 2014 it can simply halt judicial nominations as a payback for the power play –no power play must go unpunished in the Senate and Leader McConnell knows that very well and will enforce it after his re-election in 2015– and then the GOP’s way will be clear to restock the bench after 2016.
Confidence that a GOP president will have the opportunity grows as the collapse of Obamacare rolls on and on. The CBS News poll puts approval of the president at 37% and approval of Obamacare at 31%. More and more problems are cascading down on the absurd scheme, and those numbers will fall further and further, sucking in Democrats with them.
The GOP Really does have to find ways to offer repeal to the Democrats again and again in this season of giving. And of course today’s show will focus on whatever shoe fell in the ongoing rollout smash-up today.
