North Korea shutters the North-South factories, and South Korea flatly states it won’t be “engaging” with the crazy folks up north while the rantings go on.

Another day, another sign of hair-trigger conditions on the Korean peninsula.  The U.S. and South Korea are planning “proportional responses” to anything the North comes up with.  By all means enjoy the Michigan-Louisville game, but recognize this is a very serious situation.

My Washington Examiner column today points out that it is hard to get an unserious Beltway to cosnider anything as genuinely serious until it is too late.  September 10, 2001 and June 23, 1950 were pretty good days after all.
