My Washington Examiner column bids adieu to the Supercommittee.

It was worth a shot, but not worth billions in new taxes brought in by crippling the value of homes, destroying charities and rolling federalism interests.

The various narratives on what happened do not matter
. What matters is that Democrats would not deal with spending. Take it to the people in 2012: There are two visions, the Democratic one of the U.S.-as-Greece-on-steroids, and one of the Reagan years. Let the choosing begin. The example of the elections in Spain should let both American parties know what is ahead for the U.S. vote.
