Hia uncle Evan emails in part:
I went to his funeral in Michigan last week and the memorial video (including SEAL graduation video) shown at the funeral is also on the Facebook page. There were around 2,500 people at his funeral in Michigan but the Navy presence was the most impressive. My brother said they were fantastic in their support through the entire time. Just one more thing. One SEAL with an eye patch came up during the funeral and told the crowd that he was there because David saved his life a few months earlier. He said he had been blinded and wounded in a battle when David swooped in with his MAV-4 (?) and stood between him and the enemy and poured fire in the enemy’s faces at the same time he pulled him to safety. David had been awarded the bronze star for valor, not sure if it was for that event or something else. There is much more including what actually happened that week in battle….
