Here’s a surprise: A Harvard history professor, Jill Lepore, hates the Tea Parties and has written a book saying so at great length, a book reviewed by Baylor history professor Thomas Kidd at Patheos.com.
Professor Kidd’s book God of Liberty: A Religious History of the American Revolution is in my stack of books off to my right which are for reading in advance of interviews. In light of the review, it goes to the top.
And it brings me to my appeal to publishers. Scores of books arrive each week, and talented publicists do their best to get their author’s book to the top of the stack and the author on the air. The publishing house/publicist that figures out it is now an iPad world and gets their author’s work out to the reviewing world via the electronic version should win a medal. Then the books can accompany the producer/editor/host wherever he or she travels, and not sit waiting for the stack to get attended to.
