I interviewed Tom Nagorski, author of Miracles on the Water, on today’s program. This true story is a riveting read, inspiring and also horribly sad. As I said on air last week, teachers looking to assign a great book for the summer months should put this one at the top of the list. A story of courage in wartime has great relevance today, and as the children at the center of this book are aged from 5 to 15, almost every young reader will find a connection.
Read the online reviews of this book at Amazon.com, and you will quickly see why my recommendation is so strong, and why Nagorski got his first call from a movie type about optioning the rights. Memo to the Hollywood types: Don’t be late on this one.
