Kerry And The Volunteer Army

Thursday, November 2, 2006  |  posted by Hugh Hewitt

If you didn’t like Kerry’s “apology,” wait a day.  It may change.

As with so many other things like the $87 billion and the “I will never apologize” declaration, Kerry was for a volunteer Army befoe he was against it.

From a 1970 Harvard Crimson article: Kerry “supports a volunteer Army, “1f and only if we can create the controls for it.”

Two years later, he was against the volunteer Army:

During a Vietnam-era run for Congress three decades ago, John Kerry said he opposed a volunteer Army because it would be dominated by the underprivileged, be less accountable and be more prone to “the perpetuation of war crimes.”

Vote Democratic on Tuesday, and you are voting for legislative control of the party that nominated this man to be president.
