Judicial Nominations

Wednesday, February 8, 2006  |  posted by Hugh Hewitt

It has been more than three months since the last confirmation of a federal appellate court nominee, Susan Bieke Neilson to the Sixth Circuit.

Of course the nominations and confirmations of Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito, as well as the nomination and withdrawal of Harriet Miers, absorbed an enormous amount of attention, but there are many vacancies on the federal bench, and the Judiciary Committee needs to get back to work, especially on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the D.C. Circuit and the two additional nominees the White House should be sending forwadr shortly to join Kavanaugh on the country’s second most significant court.

Here’s the list of federal judicial vacancies. Where nominees have been sent forward, their names appear in the last column.
