The Washington Free Beacon has a story that should set the table for all of the hungry MSMers eager to make their names in investigative journalism, for such an “investment” by the president’s closest advisor calls out for scrutiny
Don’t hold your breath, for all the reasons detailed in my column yesterday
. The collapse of the MSM when it comes to the president is complete.
As Peggy Noonan notes with her typical style in Friday’s Wall Street Journal:
Finally, the big broadcast networks plan to give the Republicans (and the Democrats) only one hour a night of TV coverage.
They used to give all night, long as it took, and treat the proceedings with respect. What they give now, to the people of a great democracy fighting for its economic life in an uncertain world, is . . . an hour a night? For a national political convention?
This is a scandal. Mock them for it. This isn’t Edward R. Murrow in charge of the news, it’s Gordon Gekko in charge of programming.
Of course, the nets aren’t even going to cover even an hour of the first night of the GOP proceedings. “Nothing to see here, watch these re-reruns.”
The president is losing this election, and when he does, the handful of people who get their news only from the old Manhattan-Beltway media elite will be stunned
