It’s Tribe Time! (Part 2.)

This is Kenny Lofton with a crucial catch in the first inning of last night’s game.

I doubt any Tribe fan believed it was over for an hour after it was over.  As fans of the only club ever to lose the World Series after entering the bottom of the ninth of the seventh game of the World Series, we do not rest easy no matter the lead or the inning.

This is a wonderful club to watch, full of different personalities from the old school Sizemore to the bash brothers of Hafner and Martinez and of course grand old Kenny Lofton, baseball’s ambassador of hope for the aging.

Now they just have to pitch past Manny, the prodigal son.  May he and Jim Thome somehow find a way back like the Rock did at the end of his career.

On to Boston, home of the worst fans in the sports world when it comes to the sin that goest before them all.  In my lifetime the Indians have never won a World Series, and any road to a title that went through New York and Boston would be wonderful indeed.

More here from America’s finest sports writer, the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Terry Pluto.
