(DEAN BARNETT HERE)
Remember how Howard Dean flooded Iowa with out of state volunteers to spread the message of the Dean campaign? Remember how these volunteers were (at the risk of being harshly judgmental) a little offbeat and didn’t quite agree with the staid sensibilities of Iowa voters? And lastly, remember how in the end the massive and lavishly funded Dean ground game turned out to be a minus rather than a plus in the neckless governor’s quest to seize the Whitehouse?

I came up from NYC yesterday. It was my first time with GOTV and canvassing. Looooved it! What a great way to get involved, enjoy a beautiful day and meet new folks. My partner and I definitely won several votes for Lamont….it makes a difference to talk to people, and they want to talk. Plus I got to see a slice of America I would probably have never visited. Norwalk is a cool town, loved the people there. This won’t be my last GOTV.
In my younger days, I did some canvassing. You’ll have to take my word for this
