High Negatives, No Warmth, Radical Politics:Hillary As A Loser

Dems waking up to the fact that Hillary cannot win?  Take a radical platform and marry it to sky high negatives, and the Dems are cooking up a recipe for electoral disaster.

Could enough of them say “no” to the inevitable and surge towards Obama –the new man, the happy man, the generation jumper?  At least with Obama, the Congressional Democrats wouldn’t be courting a wipe-out.

The New York Post gives a hint of what is going on in Democratic circles:

November 8, 2007 — WASHINGTON – Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s once-commanding lead in New Hampshire has been slashed – a sign that the simmering driver’s-license controversy may have bled into the critical first-primary state, a new poll shows.

Clinton leads top Democratic rival Barack Obama by only 10 percentage points – 34 to 24 – in the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, her smallest edge of the season. John Edwards comes in third, at 15 percent.

A month ago, Clinton had a 23-point lead in the same survey.

Read the whole thing.  Hillary’s not the “come back kid,” but the “coming-back-to-the-field” kid.  Cue Paul Simon’s “Slip-Sliding Away.”
