My friend and radio colleague Frank Pastore died today from injuries sustained in a crash about a month ago.
He was a wonderful man in every way, funny and smart, a bold witness for Christ, a great husband and dad and grandfather.
For nearly a decade Frank has held the afternoon drive slot at KKLA 99.5 in Los Angeles, “the interesection of faith and reason,” as he always said, and done so with great courage, broadcast talent and endless good humor towards everyone whether they agreed with him or not. He was a good, good man and will be much missed.
Frank was a great evangelist and apologistr as well as a very good major league pitcher in his day, so I think this quote from another great evangelist, D.L. Moody, is appropriate:
Some day you will read in the papers that D. l. Moody of East Northfield, is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now; I shall have gone up higher, that is all, out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal- a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.
