This story by Matti Friedman on how reporters/editors/commentators consistently and systemically wrongly report the circumstances of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict iOS a must read that will no doubt generate a lot of blow back for Friedman.
Domestic MSM hates being called on its anti-Israel bias, and no doubt the international version of MSM is even more anti-Israel than its U.S. branch. It takes considerable courage to be fair on behalf of Israel if you are working for a “mainstream” outlet invested in the anti-Israel narrative so well detailed by Friedman.
It takes the courage of someone like Dietrich von Hildebrand, who happens to be the subject of my Monday column in the Washington Examiner.
There’s a new translation of von Hildebrand’s memoir out this week –with the translation and editing done by John Henry Crosby with the assistance of John F. Crosby– which deserves wide reading especially by reporters who are going to try and deal with the pervasive anti-Semitism sweeping the world again. I interviewed Crosby last week and the audio and transcript of that conversation is here.
Send Friedman’s article around to your pals in the world of journalism, and perhaps gift them von Hildebrand’s memoir for Christmas as an example and a prod.
