C.J. Box’s The Highway
I’ll talk a bit about the column on Monday’s show, but in keeping with my promise Friday, we will also talk trucking. Really.
C.J. Box will be back in studio with me Monday, and whether you are already a fan or simply a lover of great crime fiction, don’t miss his new, and deeply chilling The Highway. It is every father’s nightmare, and if you have ever waived goodbye to your daughter heading off to school driving her own car, you will be lying awake staring at he ceiling. Then you may buy a couple of copies for the young women in your life.
Some truckers may be unhappy that the villain of the book –and what an evil villain he is– is a long haul trucker, but there are great good guys in the book as well driving the big rigs, and the portrait of life on the road is a window open to the rest of us on a lifestyle we all depend upon and few appreciate.
C.J.’s website is here, and listeners have known for years how much I love his Joe Pickett novels, but don’t miss this “not Joe” show. The Highway is the perfect beach book, unless your little girl is heading off on a cross country drive alone.
