My Monday Washington Examiner column asks whether Catholics will vote to re-elect an anti-Catholic president?

If the policy proposed and adopted is obviously aimed at Catholic institutions and designed to oblige those institutions to abandon their mission or forsake their doctrine and betray their conscience, then it is an anti-Catholic policy and its proponents anti-Catholic, just as James Blaine was rightly tagged as anti-Catholic.

The bishops need to press and press and press until this unjust policy is repealed or every Catholic in America is persuaded to not only refuse to support President Obama’s re-election, but actively working to defeat him.

Governor Romney would be very well advised to guarantee that an executive order repealing these regulations will be the first order of business on the afternoon of his inauguration.

Rich Stowell thinks Romney has an open path to the White House. Catholics and other believers in the Free Exercise clause should be helping to clear it.
