Father's Day is fast approaching so today I have on two authors for repeat visits whose new books have been smash hits.
British historian Andrew Roberts' new one-volume history of the Second World War ,
The Storm of War, is marching up best-seller lists because it is a terrific read and a comprehensive account of the epic struggle.
And Del Quentin Wilber does for one very significant day --the day Ronald Reagan was shot and the desperate struggle to save his life-- what Andrew Roberts does for an entire war, which is craft a narrative of events that simply can't be put down.
The book is Rawhide Down: The Near Assassination of Ronald Reagan.
The Politics and Prose bookstore in D.C. has autographed copies of Wilber's book available for those who really love their dads.
