The Supreme Court, fresh from ordering the release of tens of thousands of criminals in California, does nod towards states’ rights in the context of illegal immigration. Justice Kennedy was the deciding vote in both cases.
States are thus empowered to keep law abiding illegal aliens from working, but cannot keep the criminal element among them locked up if prison population numbers don’t meet the expectations of lefty federal judges.
Makes sense to me.
