My Monday Washington Examiner column collects my thoughts on last’s week’s immersion in Beltway doings.

Not sure whom to send The Happiest Life to: Seahawks’ or Broncos’ fans.  Chapters applicable to both.

And here is a Wall Street Journal interview with the Phillip Seymour Hoffman from a year ago this week.  Hoffman’s role in that film was full of grief, this interview, unnoticed at the time, is full of Hoffman’s struggles with fear.  Now with tragic hindsight, it is full of clues to a man who was at his very best but also –obvious now– in need of the sort of friends that such levels of fame and success just don’t often allow for.
