Ask Congress to Support Israel
The Townhall.com Action Center has been configured to help you reach your Congressional representative to urge him or her to take action to support Israel via an appropriation to assist in its fiight against terror.
There is also a simple poll question up on the topic on the Townhall.com front page, opposite the Action Center.
Israel is our ally in the larger war, and America has never failed to step up at the time of fighting to assist such allies. The strain on Israel’s treasury and armaments has been great and will grow greater still. Israel should not have to come hat in hand asking for the assistance it will surely need. Both the House and the Senate passed resolutions this week voicing strong support for the Israeli counterattack on the Hezbollah terrorists.
Next week they should move beyond words to deeds.
Israel is fighting to stop, and defeat, Hezbollah. Bush, Blair, and the Post editors understand that the right policy is to stand behind Israel, and to support that nation in defeating terror–for its own sake, and on behalf of liberal civilization. They understand that we are at war with an axis of jihadist-terrorist organizations and the states that sponsor them. They understand that we need to win the war.
Israel receives approximately a quarter billion in economic aid from the U.S., and approximately 2.3 billion in military assistance. Clearly this is a year where Israel will need more.
“If there’s need, we’ll fulfill it,” Speaker Hastert told me earlier today. (transcript at Radioblogger.com later.)
Let your Member/Senator know that you are certain there is a need, and that it should be met now.
Yoni reports, btw, that evidence has been discovered of Syrian resupply of the Hezbollah terrorists is underway. You would think we would be at least as aggressive in resupply of Israel as Syria/Iran is of their terror allies.
