Since November there has been a lot of college basketball played.  It has been good.  Season highlight to date, Butler beating Villanova not once, but twice, during the conference regular season.  But now it gets real – tourney time.  This week conference tournaments happen…

 

 

and upcoming is Selection Sunday when the Big Dance is laid before the expectant nation.

What to hope for?  Well, depending on the prognosticators, the Big East conference, one of the so-called “basketball only” conferences, could put as many, or more, teams in the Big Dance than the so-called “power” conferences like the Big Ten and ACC.  So as the Big East tournament unfolds in Madison Square Garden beginning tomorrow, here’s to a great tourney – a tourney that boosts the fortunes of the conference’s bubble teams, which is really all of them save for Villanova and Butler.

Now as to the Big Dance, what to hope for?  Oh, I think you know –
