Spitzer: IMF lowers U.S. economic forecast; maybe a game of golf will make the difference

Robert Costa delivers a damning assessment of anti-business core of the president and the party he leads in today’s Wall Street Journal.
At the same time, Politico’s Jonathan Martin surveyed a score of GOP leaders and discovered that they think Mitt Romney could win. I suspect they have all along but needed to be gracious to everyone else in the field, and have also been mindful that elections like 1980 and 1992 are not regularly recurring events but that 20 years is a long time to go without delivering a message to incumbents everywhere that no one is owed a second term.
The RCP map is shifting towards Team Romney and polls like Quinnipiac’s in Florida -Romney up six among registered voters, not the “likely voter” cohort in which he typically does better than RVs-– has got to have sent a chill down all lefty spines. Another political tsunami is growing, because the president is a failure, doesn’t know it, and acts like he’s a genius.
Again, what if the Chicago Gang was just lucky in 2008? What if they are as clueless about elections as the president about the economy and the world?
It won’t be long until the Hillary Option is discussed as an alternative to Slow Joe Biden. Just keep in mind you read about it here first –in August of 2009.
