I spent most of my February 22 program interviewing former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld about his new memoir Known and Unknown. (The transcript is here.)
Tonight I will be interviewing the former SecDef at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California beginning at 7. He will also appear on the program between 3:30 and 5 PM Pacific. By the end of both programs tonight I will have spent close to five hours total interviewing Rumsfeld about his book, and will still only have begun to scratch the surface of one of the most extraordinary careers of public service in modern American history. There are lots of reasons why Rumsfeld’s book has done so well on the New York Times’ list (as has his W’s), and it has to do with the “great, silent majority’s” deep appreciation for for his service and approval of his candor.
